SOPA Bill to be Voted on in the US House

by Adam Rothstein

SOPA is a bill to create a nation-wide Internet Black List. Ostensibly meant to fight piracy, it will allow the government to create procedures for DNS blocking, which basically keeps a web site from showing up on the Internet.

Free speech is not only a part of the Bill of Rights, but it is one of the strongest political tools of the people. It does not just safe guard democracy–it is democracy. Measures like this would make it possible to “disappear” a web site like The Occupier from the Internet, just because it contains a link to a site perceived to encourage piracy. You can find more information about the repercussions of the bill here.

The form below will help you call your US Representative, and tell them that you are opposed to this threat to free speech.
