The even "Woodstock-ish" solidarity and equality I felt at the original occupy pdx encampment offered an alternative from the established bureaucratic method of treating social ills. Instead a direct, therapeutic, more human approach was tried- yes ("Love Thy Neighbor") Namely feeding, housing and talking to the disadvantaged of the community was done voluntarily without government help,(albeit on taxpayer supplied land). What?? Drug addicts, mentally ill, incapacitated, and homeless people being treated like equal Americans ? As beautiful and symmetrically simple as this can be/// -more towards a vision of a future American society and even "culture" needs to be developed. Do we want to be remembered as only a civilization based on fast food empires- and the creators of a Himalayan sized pile of discarded, expired consumer items buried for future archeologists ? Hey- I am registered Pacific Green Party-
just waiting for things to coalesce...

Ms Alvarez says, " For example, nobody in our Occupy group can do the technical website work right now, so our website is completely nonfunctional."

But this statement appears on a beautifully maintained website that far exceeds my own in complexity and interconnectedness. She lost me.
